Hello! My name is Asako and I live in the beautiful upper Blue Mountains near Sydney, Australia. I have two children, an 8-year-old girl and a 6-year-old boy.
I’ve had three “careers” in my life: a litigation lawyer, chef, and for the past five years I’ve had my home-based business designing and making bags and other accessories for children and parents. (see my Etsy shop: www.etsy.com/shop/piggledee).
Since I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes two years ago, I have been obsessing about how to live with the illness – including exercising, medication (or no medication), etc, but mostly with what to cook and eat. And it’s not all doom and gloom. I am actually thankful that I have diabetes, because I have discovered a whole new world of creative, healthy, plant-based world of cooking and eating that is endlessly fascinating.
